Bullets/Explosions


Summary

Bullets/Explosions is a puzzle shooter game made for a game jam organized by UCI's Video Game Development Club where the theme was "There is never enough." The goal of the game was to destroy a fixed number of targets using some pre-defined combination of bouncing shots, piercing shots, and explosive shots. The team decided as a group to theme the game around internet memes from two years prior. 

What I Did

For this project I focused on art and sound. I compiled images and sounds from the internet and implemented them into Unity. Additionally I illustrated some sprites such as those for the UI, and also wrote a simple "inbetweens" script that inserted title cards for each level after loading. 

What I Learned

I had a lot of fun working on this project and made friends with a group of talented developers. I learned a lot from a fellow designer about pacing and teaching players how to play the game without exhaustive tutorials.
